2004
Anecova is founded by Dr Pascal Mock, infertility specialist in Geneva, and Martin Velasco, entrepreneur and business angel.
2006
Initiation of a preliminary clinical study with the aim to establish that embryo fertilization and culture within the womb is feasible and can be performed safely with the Anecova technology.
2007
CE Mark Certification of the Anecova-d1 device and ISO certification (9001, 13485) of the company.
2008
Anecova nominated 2008 Technology Pioneer by World Economic Forum.
2009
Publication in the scientific Journal Human Reproduction of the first Anecova study: "An in vivo culture system for human embryos using an encapsulation technology: a pilot study". The study demonstrates that embryo fertilization and culture can be safely carried out in the womb by using the Anecova method. A positive trend to higher embryo quality for in vivo cultured embryos was also demonstrated.
2010 - 2011
Several performance studies carried out in european centers confirm the results from the pilot study with additional trends: a positive trend on embryo implantation and pregnancy rate, when embryos are cultured with the Anecova method.
2012
Launch of a multi-center performance study of the second generation Anecova device in 4 european centers.
